What is an Eternity ring and when is it bought?

What is an Eternity ring?

An "Eternity" ring, also known as "Memory" or "Infinity" ring, is a band of precious metal (usually gold), set with a continuous line of identically cut gemstones (usually diamonds).

When is an Eternity ring given?

Eternity rings are usually given by a partner to his/her spouse to symbolize love and can be offered for various occasions.

They are perfect for:

  • The wedding band: the wedding band can be adorned with diamonds or be a simple gold band. It is a matter of taste and preferences. Many women enjoy having an eternity ring as a wedding band as it offers more glamour than their plain gold band alternative.
  • A "morgengabe" present: discover what a "morgengabe" is here!
  • An anniversary ring: eternity rings are a wonderful 5 or 10-year anniversary present! It is a way for the partner to renew his/her vows to his/her spouse. Discover more wedding anniversary presents ideas.
  • A special milestone, such as the birth of a child! Find more "push presents" ideas here.
